2014 Wing Ding Event Info with Grand Parade Map

Honda_Wing_DingThe Gold Wing Road Riders Association has announced the dates and times along with the various activities that will be taking place during its 36th Wing Ding event in Madison, Wisconsin at the Alliant Energy Center. The center is  located at 1919 Alliant Energy Center Way.  This year, Wing Ding will last from July 2 to 5 and is expected to attract over 13,000 Honda Gold Wing riders and other touring motorcycles.  In all, there will be two parades that participants can join. On Friday, July 4, riders can take part in the light parade, an event where decked-out, lighted motorcycles will first be judged at the Alliant Energy Center’s south lot before heading out on the ride. The staging and classification stage of the event will last from 7 to 9 pm before the parade itself launches at 9:30 pm. For 30 minutes, these bikes will light up the Alliant Energy Center as they tour through its park grounds. The judging and awards will be presented at 10 pm. The grand parade and pancake breakfast will be held the next and final day of the event on Saturday, July 5. The parade will begin at Warner Park and snake its way to the Alliant Energy Center just in time for the trade show. Tickets for the breakfast must be bought by June 7th, which will include preregistration for the entire week.

In addition to the parades, riders will enjoy activities, rider safety training, charity benefits, entertainment, and other competitions. On Tuesday, July 1, the festivities will last 10 am-9:30 pm; 7 am-8 pm on Wednesday, July 2; 8 am-9  pm on Thursday, July 3;  8 am-10 pm on Friday, July 4, and 7 am-5 pm on Saturday, July 5.

If you didn’t purchase a ticket for breakfast, you are still allowed to participate in the Grand Parade.
