The Motor Company has just unveiled its new Harley-Davidson Riding Academy. As of now, it’s the only national rider training program hosted by Harley-Davidson dealerships and the only one to train new riders on the new Harley-Davidson Street 500.
The Harley-Davidson Riding Academy’s New Rider Course will provide MSF-certified instructors, use of the Street 500, and a minimum of 20 hours of combined classroom and range training. The ratio of student to instructor will be a guaranteed 6:1 and all students need to bring to class is the appropriate riding gear.
In addition to riding the all-new Street 500, the classes will introduce new features such as an industry-first Power Limit Calibration, which limits the vehicle’s low-gear speeds, and a unique Vehicle Protection Kit.
Completion of a Harley-Davidson Riding Academy course can exempt riders from taking an additional road test in many states, and many insurance providers offer discounts to graduates. These changes will be implemented United States, where there are over 180 H-D dealers that offer training courses, in addition to expanding on a global scale to Mexico, China, and South America.
