Triumph To Introduce Steve McQueen Bonneville At NYC Motorcycle Show This Weekend

Hot on the heels of the December introduction of the all-new Tiger Explorer and Speed Triple R models, Triumph Motorcycles will formally introduce the US market to a third new model, the 2012 Steve McQueen Edition Bonneville, at the Progressive International Motorcycle Show in New York City. The event will take place the weekend of January 20-22 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

The limited-release Bonneville T100 Steve McQueen Edition is inspired by the Triumph Trophy TR6 that McQueen and stuntman Bud Ekins insisted on riding during filming of the classic movie The Great Escape. It features a military-style matte khaki green livery, stencil-style Triumph decal on the tank and the actor’s signature on the side covers. Only 1,100 models will be sold worldwide, with less than 350 making their way to the United States.

Joining the McQueen Edition Bonneville at the New York Triumph IMS booth will be the hotly anticipated, shaft-drive Tiger Explorer and the Öhlins-equipped Speed Triple R ABS. These all-new 2012 models have already proven extremely popular at previous IMS shows around the country and will no doubt draw crowds in New York as well.

Pricing and availability for Triumph’s new 2012 models will be available later this month.
